RADA audit files vanished without trace

When the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) requested the audit files in connection with auditing conducted at RADA, then Deputy Auditor General (Administration) said there was no audit done at the RADA by the department.

"He said that on the instructions of then Acting Auditor General", Sri Lankan Audit Examiners' Service Union President H.M.K.Herath said.

Addressing media in Colombo yesterday he said the Auditor General's Department audited RADA and there were files but now nobody knows what had happened to those files. They have vanished without trace.

According to Herath, one audit superintendent and four audit inspectors served since 2005 in connection with RADA auditing and they did all the auditing at RADA. Even incentives had been paid by the department to them for their duty at RADA. Herath pointed out that when the CID requested for the files, then Deputy Auditor General (Administration) said there was no audit done at RADA and therefore no files related to such an audit.
