The Court of Appeal adjourned for the second time yesterday (26), the announcement of its decision on whether to issue an interim restraining order to prevent the implementation of the order made by the Maligakanda Magistrate to remand Medical Supply Division Director Kapila Wickramanayake in connection with the purchase of substandard “Human Immunoglobulin” vaccines.
Accordingly, it was decided to announce the order on April 30. The relevant order was initially scheduled to be announced on April 9. However, it was not announced on that day, and the Court of Appeal decided to publish it on April 26. For this, the writ petition was sent to Court of Appeal Judge D.N.Samarakoon, who was summoned yesterday (26). The judge mentioned that the relevant order is not ready, and therefore, it will be announced on April 30. After considering the facts presented regarding the petition filed by the doctor to invalidate the order given by the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court to remand him, the pronouncement of this decision was postponed.
