The Kandy District Cricket Association inter club T20 cricket which is a 20-over cricket tournament played every year took off to a start on Monday and in this tournament twenty games will be played in eleven days all matches will be played at the Pallkelle Prisons Grounds this ground gives a big hand for the game. Thanks to the Kandy District Cricket Association headed by Tissa Jayasinghe with the rest of the committee are doing their best to make this tournament a grand success. They conducted tournaments coaching programmers and awareness programmers for umpires and players where the rules and regulations and playing conditions are addressed. Their main aim is to keep the game on top and this year they have lots of programs.

On Monday two matches were played in the first game, Kandy Youth CC beat Old Rajans SC by seven wickets. Old Rajans SC batting first were all-out for 105 runs in 17.1 overs, Udith Indunil scored 16 and Charith Rajaguru took 3 for 28, Charuka Ekanayake 2 for 14, Madushan Bothotage 2 for 17. In the second game Old Trinitiansn Sports Club beat Southerland Sports Club by 97 runs. Old Trinitians Sports Club batting first scored 175 for 7 in 20 overs. Dimantha Mahavithana scored 94 with some good hits, Naveen Ekanayake scored 35, J.M. Ishak took 2 for 22 and Nuwan Senadera 2 46. In reply Sotherland Sports Club made 78 runs losing all the wickets in 26.2 over’s Visura Wathara 41, Kesrara Nuragoda 3 for 12 and Malith Rathnayake 2 for 17.
