Eleven henchmen of a drug dealer who is abroad were arrested by the officers of the Colombo Crimes Division during a raid in the Peliyagoda area. The Police Media Spokesperson’s Office stated that there are three women among them.
The Police Media Spokesperson’s Office stated that four swords were taken into custody along with these suspects during the raid conducted by a team of officers of the Organized Crime Investigation Unit of the Colombo Crimes Division, based on a tip-off received.
When this group was arrested, they had been behaving violently in connection with a drug deal.
The police said that there had been a dispute between two groups for a long time and the root of the dispute is drug trafficking.
The arrested suspects were aged between 23 and 35 years. Police say that the female suspects are 26, 46 and 47 years old. Police also said that seven of these suspects are wanted for several crimes that had been reported to the Peliyagoda Police.
