According to a decision of the National Police Commission,Transfer orders have been issued to 12 senior Police Officers, including eight DIGs, signed by DIG Sisira Kumara in charge of the Police Human Resource Management Division on Monday (9).
Among them are SSPs in charge of the Colombo Central Division, Gayan Marapana, Sujith Wedamulla and Samantha Wijesekera, officers who were promoted as Deputy Inspectors Generals of Police.
The police order issued by the DIG Sisira Kumara, the DIGs who have been transferred are as follows:Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Police Transport and Communications Buddhika Siriwardena as Chief of Police in charge of Police Headquarters, Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Western Province South District Kapila Kadupitiya as Chief of Police in charge of Transport and Communications District, DIG in charge of Kilinochchi District H.Samudrajeewa as the Chief in charge of the Western Province Community Police Environmental Protection and Public Order Management and Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Wanni District P. Ampavila as Chief of Police in charge of Crimes Division, Chief of Police in charge of Police Headquarters Samantha De Silva as Chief of Police in charge of Wanni District, Deputy Inspector General of Police Samantha Wijesekera who was working as Director of Police Narcotics Bureau as Chief of Police in charge of Wanni District, Chief of Police in charge of Badulla Division Sujith Wedamulla, as the Chief of Police in charge of the Police Navigation and Tourism Division and Gayan Marapana, who was working as the Chief of Police in charge of the Colombo South Division, has been appointed as the Chief of Police in charge of the Western Province South Division.
Apart from this, SSP I.W.G.R.Kandewatta, who was serving as the personal assistant of the Uva Province SDIG, as the Police Chief in charge of the Badulla Division and SSP Neranjan Abeywardena, who was working as the Chief of Police in charge of the Kuliyapitiya Division, as the Chief of Police in charge of the Colombo South Division. Elpitiya SSP M.M.Kumarasinghe has been appointed as the Chief in charge of the Kuliyapitiya Division and Upula Seneviratne,
Galle SSP has been appointed as the Chief in charge of the Kilinochchi Division.
