Sri Lanka Navy’s Chalitha Pushpika nailed a fantastic round of golf, finishing two under par to clinch victory by a whopping 10 shots at the Sri Lanka Golf National Ranking Tournament held at the Royal Colombo Golf Club yesterday.
Pushpika, who has been playing brilliantly throughout the tournament, scored rounds of 72, 73, and 70 before carding an impressive 69 in the final round, bringing his total to 284.
This left him with a comfortable lead over the second-place finisher, Reshan Algama, who, despite putting up a solid performance with a final round score of 70, couldn’t catch up. Algama’s total score stood at 294.
Priya Hemantha, a seasoned teaching professional, finished with a total score of 299 after carding a 74 in the final round, just two shots behind Algama.
Yannik Kumar also had a commendable performance, finishing with a total score of 304, aided by a final round score of 76.
Notably, young talent Adithya Weerasinghe from Anuradhapura Golf Club secured the fifth spot with a final round score of 76, finishing ahead of Uchitha Ranasinghe, who placed sixth with a total score of 305 after a final round of 78.
Sri Lanka Golf handed out cash prizes to the top performers of the tournament.
Chalitha Pushpika, the winner, received the first prize, followed by Reshan Algama in second place and Priya Hemantha in third place.
