Weligama Police arrested four suspects, including three women, in connection with the murder of an individual at Pemuyankanda area on Saturday morning (16), within a few hours of the incident.
The victim, a 38-year-old resident of Mirissa, had been hacked to death by a group of persons. The arrested include an 18-year-old youth from Devinuwara and three women aged 18, 40 and 55 from Mirissa and Ahangama areas, Police said. Two more suspects wanted in connection with this crime have fled the area and the Weligama Police are conducting further investigations to arrest them.
