Cabinet spokesman and Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana said the government decided to provide 34 acres for the construction of second and third phase of National School of Business Management (NSBM) subject to the estimated value recovery of the Government Valuer, on long-term lease.
Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana said that the Cabinet of Ministers gave approval to provide a land in extent of 14 acres 03 rood and 12.8 perches for the construction of the phase II of the university.
“The Cabinet also granted its approval for the provision of another portion of 20 acres of land for construction of its phase III subject to the estimated value recovery of the Government Valuer, on long-term lease.
The Minister said the Cabinet paper in this regard was presented by Urban Development and Housing Minister Prasanna Ranatunga.
The Urban Development Authority has acquired the land called Maahenawatte in extent of 237 acres situated at Pitipana, Homagama with the objective of allocating plots of lands required with the vision of “The Knowledge Centred City” pioneering the objective of developing science and technology sector under the Homagama Urban Developmet Plan.
