Rahal Amarasinghe a proud product of Trinity

Trinity College product Rahal Amarasinghe who gave his best for cricket is all out to continue his good work in cricket. He was a left hand opening batsman and left arm spinner, was a text book of batting, he knew how to defend, attack and leave balls alike he led the Trinitians in the 2022/23 season and gave his best.

Rahal Amarasinghe in his school cricket  career faced some of the best bowlers. He was widely admired for his technique against fast bowling. was widely regarded as a good opening batsman. He is sure to continue his cricket playing, and is expected to play for Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club.

Rahal Amarasinghe is a product from a famous cricket promoting family his father Pulasthi Amarasinghe is also a good cricketer and still gives a big hand in cricket promotion. Rahal Amarasinghe is a lucky cricketer; he  captained the Trinity College under 13, 15, 17 and 19 teams and gave his best.

He was the under 13 best batsman in 2016, Under 15 best all-rounder in 2018, under 15 best batsmen in 2019. He was the best batsman in the Sanga-Mahela annual cricket encounter in 2021/22, best batsman and man of the match in the 104th big match against St. Anthony’s College in the 2022-23 season. He became the player of the finals in the Sri Lanka cricket national youth league inter province tournament in 2023. Was best batsman and cricketer of Trinity College in the 2022/23 season.

He was a third year coloursman and also won the sports highest award of Trinity College the “Lion”. He led the under 19 side and was able to bring the one day all island division one championship and All Island Division one two day tier A Joint Championship after 2012 where they won under national cricketer Niroshan Dickwella. Led the under 19 Central Province team and was able to guide the side to win the all island inter provincial national league tournament.

He was a member of the Sri Lanka Cricket national youth training squad in 2023. He led under 15 and 19 Kandy District team 2018 and 2023 for Prima all island Championship.

Was a member of the Sri Lanka Under 19 pool  for the Sri Lanka national  tour to England and Under 19 World cup in 2022.  In the 2022/23 season was able to reach  the thousand run mark.

He was given the best of support by Principal Rev Fr. Araliaya Jayasundara. Head Coach Naveen Ekanayake and former junior and senior coaching staff. Trinity College Cricket foundation headed by Nilantha Ratnayake.

Then also Bilal Fassy. Present President Clifford Fernando and  the Cricket Foundation.

The Kandy District Cricket Association and Central Province Cricket Association gave him the much needed backing to be on top in cricket.
