A 17-year-old girl was injured in a shooting incident at Girithale in Minneriya last night.
The girl had been injured and subsequently admitted to the Polonnaruwa Hospital.
The shooting had occurred while the girl was at her relative’s house with her family members.
Police said that it is not yet known as to who carried out the shooting, and Minneriya Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
