An MoU was signed between Air Force Commander Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa and Arthur C Clarke Institute DG and CEO Eng. (Dr.) Sanath Panawennage at SLAF Headquarters on Monday (25).

The Arthur C Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies (ACCIMT) has joined with the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) forces to strengthen SLAF’s capabilities in strategically vital technology domains through collaborative research and development, technical consultation and professional training, and through other related interactions.

An MoU was signed to commence this initiative between the Air Force Commander Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa and Arthur C Clarke Institute DG and CEO Eng. (Dr.) Sanath Panawennage at SLAF Headquarters on Monday (25). The aim of this endeavour is to execute a comprehensive medium-term programme aimed at enhancing the technological prowess of the SLAF, particularly in the realms of Space Technology and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).

This initiative seeks to elevate SLAF’s capabilities to effectively fulfill its role within Sri Lanka’s national defence strategy. This strategic partnership with ACCIMT offers SLAF the opportunity to jointly develop and implement a detailed medium-term agenda aimed at expanding technological capacities in Space Technology and UAVs. Professional training sessions on Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems and other related technology domains will be provided, in addition to ongoing technical support.
