Sri Lanka Navy’s Chalitha Pushpika scored an impressive one under par 70 round, the best performance of the day, at the National Ranking Tournament (NRT) held by Sri Lanka Golf at the Royal Colombo Golf Club yesterday. Pushpika maintained the top spot on the leader board with a solid total of 215, leaving his competitors far behind.

Having dominated the leader board for three consecutive days, Pushpika’s scores of 72, 73, and an outstanding 70 put him nine shots ahead of Reshan Algama, the country’s leading World Amateur Golf Ranker. Algama’s third round saw him card a 76, bringing his total to 224, just one shot ahead of teaching professional Priya Hemantha, who finished with a commendable 73, for a total of 225.

In another noteworthy performance, Uchitha Ranasinghe delivered an excellent third round, scoring an even-par 71 for a total of 227, securing fourth place in the 21-player leader board. Young golfer Adithya Weerasinghe from the Anuradhapura Golf Academy posted a 75, trailing behind Yannik Kumara, who sits in fifth place with a total of 228 after carding a 73 in the third round.

Former NRT champion Chanaka Perera faced a setback, slipping to the bottom of the leaderboard due to a finger injury preventing him from competing yesterday and today. The final day’s proceedings are scheduled to commence at 10AM, with the awards ceremony set for 2PM at the RCGC.
