Old Musaeites Hockey Club emerged as the Champions beating Janadhipathi Balika Hockey Wing by a solitary goal to nil with Nadali Sirimanne scoring the goal for the winners in the final of the women’s 2nd annual Double Blue Hockey 7s tournament, organised and conducted by the Hockey committee of the Old Wesleyites Sports Club ( OWSC ), played at the Wesley College ground Colombo on the on the 21st of April 2024.
Four teams in the women’s catergory, Old Musaeites Hockey Club, Visakhians Hockey, Bishopian Hockey and Janadhipathi Balika Hockey Wing were the invitees to participate at this years Double Blue Hockey 7s tournament.

In the league matches played, Old Musaeites Hockey Club lost to Janadhipathi Balika Hockey Wing on a toss of a coin after the match ended in a draw at the full time of play and in the penalty strokes series ( 3 all ), beat Visakhians Hockey by 1 goal to nil and also Bishopian Hockey by 1 goal to nil..
Old Musaeites Hockey Club in the semi final was lucky to win this game against Bishopian Hockey on a toss of a coin after the match ended in a thrilling draw at the full time of play and in the penalty strokes series ( 1 all ).
In the final, Old Musaeites Hockey Club edged out Janadhipathi Balika Hockey Wing by a solitary goal to nil to emerge as the Champions in the women’s catergory at the 2nd annual Double Blue Hockey 7s tournament 2024.
Nadali Sirimanne of Old Musaeites Hockey Club who showcased her talents as an outstanding player and scoring the goal in the final was adjudged as the best women’s player at this 2nd annual Double Blue 7s tournament.
The Chief Guest Avanka Fernando, Principal of Wesley College Colombo was pleased with the Hockey committee for conducting a women’s tournament as well, which could engaged the younger generation in taking up the Sport Hockey from the grassroot level at Girls Schools.
