Navy Commander visits Northern Naval Command

Embarking on a visit to the Northern Naval Command, the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera paid his homage to the Nagadeepa Purana Rajamaha Viharaya on 23rd April 2024.

At the outset, the Commander of the Navy paid his obeisance to the Chief Incumbent of the Nagadeepa Purana Rajamaha Viharaya and the Chief Sanganayake of the Northern Province, Most Venerable Navadagala Paduma Kiththi Tissa Thera and received his blessings. Meanwhile, on the occasion of the birthday of Most Venerable Navadagala Paduma Kiththi Tissa Thera, a statue of Bodhisattva Maitreya was also unveiled.

Further, the Commander of the Navy inspected the construction progress of a hospital on Nagadeepa Island, which is being built utilizing the manpower of the Navy, for the benefit of the islanders.

The Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kanchana Banagoda and a group of senior naval officers were also present on this occasion.
