Leader of the United Republic Front, MP Patali Champika Ranawaka said that he is happy that Lal Kantha has given up socialism and now it was the turn of Anura and Tilvin to express their views on the matter.Ranawaka said the NPP should evolve as a political party to suit the needs of modern day politics.
Ranawaka also said that the SJB and NPP are talking about a debate on their economic strategies and added if the two parties are sincere on the matter they should hold the debate without further delaying it.
Addressing the media in Colombo Ranawaka said he does not think that Labour Day should be celebrated as a political parties and that Labour Day should be celebrated by trade unions and workers and highlight worker’s issues.
