Special bus and train services for those returning after New Year

Special buses and trains have been deployed today (16) and tomorrow (17) for the convenience of people returning to Colombo and other places after celebrating the Sinhala and Tamil New Year in their villages.

The bus services were operational from 12.00 noon on April 14.

The Transport and Highways Ministry has instructed the National Transport Commission, the Sri Lanka Transport Board,

the Provincial Transport authorities and the Sri Lanka Railways to operate the special services today and tomorrow as well.

Accordingly, special buses will start from Ambalangoda, Ampara, Anuradhapura, Badulla, Chilaw, Embilipitiya, Kanduruwela, Hatton, Nuwara Eliya, Welimada, Kandy, Kurunegala, Moneragala, etc.

Also, special buses will operate to various destinations on the expressway network.

Further, special train services are being operated for the convenience of travellers.

If the public has any problem with transportation facilities, they can make inquiries on the following phone numbers: SLTB hotline ‘1958’, the National Transport Commission on ‘1955’ and the Sri Lanka Railways on ‘1971’.
