Irrespective of what the trade unions related to JVP say, the party Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake MP and Vijitha Herath MP have issued statements approving the sale of the loss-making State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) to the private sector under a formal tender process, SJB National Organizer Tissa Attanayake MP said.
He also said that the same JVP members who earlier shouted they are against privatising state enterprises are now saying it is alright under a formal tender process according to policies of the alliance they created the NPP.
Speaking to journalists in Teldeniya he said either Anura Kumara Dissanayake or Vijitha Herath should explain the position of the National People’s Power to the country regarding the loss-making state enterprises.
Attanayake went on to say that after his visit to India, Anura Kumara Dissanayake made comments approving the sale of state resources under a transparent tender process. He said the JVP is using its trade unions to hoodwink the people while using its alliance the NPP propagate a difference stance on national issues to the international community and other influential sectors.
