Top three women’s surfers with their awards
Bruno Pitanga of Brazil won the men’s event of the 2024 Red Bull Ride My Wave surfing tournament held for the 9th time at Hikkaduwa Narigama beach. Marian Philippe of France won the women’s event.
The Red Bull Ride My Way Surfing event was held on March 15 and 16. The event was conducted to give local surfers the experience of an international level tournament, to show the world that Sri Lanka is a very suitable country for surfing and to promote the tourism industry. About 120 surfing athletes from home and abroad participated in this tournament. Many athletes from 19 countries including United Kingdom, South Africa, India, Russia, Brazil, France, Netherlands, Australia participated in this tournament.
This surfing tournament was held as women’s and men’s events and the king of the wave title was won by Brazilian Bruno Pitanga and the queen of the wave title was won by Marian Philippe from France.
