A 17-year-old boy studying at Marathanna Detanagala Tamil School, who had gone to a pooja at a kovil to seek blessings before appearing for the GCE Ordinary Level Examination died suddenly during the pooja. He had collapsed inside the kovil and had been rushed to hospital, but had been pronounced dead upon admission.
Coroner P. Wijethilaka said that the post-mortem examination will be done at the Balangoda Base Hospital.
The GCE Ordinary Level Exam began yesterday islandwide.
