Inuki Jayaweera, a 17-year-old tennis sensation from Musaeus College, has emerged victorious, claiming an impressive trio of titles at the recently concluded Bandarawela Tennis Club Ranking Tennis Tournament.
Jayaweera’s remarkable talent shone brightly as she secured victories in the Under-18 Girls Singles, Under-18 Girls Doubles, and Women’s Doubles categories, cementing her status as a rising star. Additionally, she displayed her capability by clinching the Women’s Singles Runner-up position in this traditional event.
Jayaweera outplayed her opponent Yuhansa Peiris from Bishop’s College to clinch the Under-18 Girls Singles title. Partnering with her schoolmate Saneshi Willoraarachchi, Jayaweera dominated the Women’s Doubles event.
Moreover, she replicated her success in the Under-18 Girls Doubles alongside Willoraarachchi, featuring formidable partnership on the court.
Despite falling short in the Women’s Singles final against Willoraarachchi, Jayaweera’s brilliant performance throughout the tournament was undeniable. Jayaweera’s achievements extend beyond the local circuit, as she has proudly represented Sri Lanka in both Junior and Senior national teams. Despite being ranked seventh in the Women’s Open category, her dominance in
the Under-18 category is evident, where she holds the coveted second position. Furthermore, her impressive partnership with Willoraarachchi has earned them the second spot in the Women’s Doubles rankings.
