Nandana De Silva, Mahinda Rajapaksa College opened its doors with 32 dedicated teachers and 668 eager students. in 2011 The school consists of 17 Parallel classes within each Grade spanning from Grade 6 to Grade 13, housing an approximate student population of 6,700. Over the years, the school evolved into a powerhouse of academic excellence, shaping the future of Sri Lanka’s education sector.

From 2014 to 2023, . R. M. Ratnayake and . R. M. D. K. Gunawadana assumed the mantle of leadership, steering Mahinda Rajapaksa College to greater heights. Through their unwavering commitment and strategic vision, the school continued to shine as a beacon of educational innovation and success in sports.

Mahinda Rajapaksa College clinched victory in a Thrilling Encounter In 2018, the first cricket match held at the SSC grounds, Mahinda Rajapaksa College emerged victorious against Defense College Colombo under the captaincy of Movin Dileep. Mahinda Rajapaksa College displayed exceptional batting prowess, making a formidable total of 252 for 3 wickets. Their batsmen exhibited skill and determination, putting the opposition under immense pressure from the outset.

Defence Services College Colombo, facing an uphill battle, struggled to match the intensity of their opponent’s performance. Despite their efforts, they were unable to contain the Mahindra Rajapaksa College’s batting lineup.

Ultimately, Defence Services College Colombo failed to resist the pressure, managing only 110 runs before being all out. The comprehensive victory for Mahinda Rajapaksa College highlighted their dominance on the field and served as a testament to their cohesive teamwork and superiority
