Agriculture Minister leaves for Iran

The Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industry Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera left for the official visit to Iran today (26) in the morning.

He will be representing Sri Lanka in the EXPO exhibition held in Tehran, Iran and is scheduled to meet and discuss with the Iranian Minister of Agriculture Mr. Mohammad Ali Nikbakht.

Although he was supposed to go to the EXPO exhibition in Iran, the minister had decided not to participate in it. However, following the request of the Iranian President and the Minister of Agriculture, who came to this country recently, to participate in this EXPO, the minister changed his decision and left for Iran this morning.

Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industries Mr.Mahinda Amaraweera said that in the meeting held in Iran with the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Mohammad Ali Nikbakht, he intends to discuss the new agricultural technology exchange.
