The Sri Lanka Electricity Bill was submitted to the Parliament yesterday (25) by Electricity and Power Minister Kanchana Wijesekera.
The proposal is scheduled to be debated soon and two weeks have been given to challenge the Bill before the Supreme Court. Presenting the Bill, the Minister stated that a number of reforms have been proposed in relation to the Electricity Board. The Minister also said that amendments can be discussed in the advisory committee.
