Minister of Health and Industry, Dr. Ramesh Pathirana has directed all hospital authorities to maintain patient care services efficiently and continuously with the full commitment and contribution of the Health staff during the festive season.
Accidents, food poisoning and non-communicable diseases (diabetes, heart related diseases) are common during the festive season. Therefore, according to the Health Minister’s directions, all necessary measures have been taken to maintain the treatment services for these patients without any delay, says Health Secretary Dr. Palitha Mahipala.
Arrangements have also been made to conduct essential ambulance services under special attention, round the clock, in emergency treatment services.
A series of guidelines to prevent accidents and serious medical conditions during local sports events in the festive season, was also unveiled recently on the directions of Dr. Pathirana.
