A five wicket haul by Udula Viswajith, two by Anuhas Eldeniya and Nulan Senevirathne saw Dharmapala College to win the 9th Limited Over edition of the Battle of the Golden Lions by 36 runs at Uyanwatta stadium Matara yesterday.
Selak Peiris and Janiru Wijewardena gave Rahula some hope by sharing a 62 run stand for the 8th wicket to take the home team from 48/7 to 110/8.
On being invited to bat first Dharmapala helped by many missed opportunities, batted out their full complement of fifty overs to reach 154/9. Nirmal Colombage topped the score card with an unbeaten 29 while Sadew Gamage was the pick of the Rahula bowlers capturing three wickets.
Of the nine matches in the limited over series Dharmapala have won 6 to Rahula’s three.
