Allan Tharuman, a Tamil diaspora member of Sri Lankan origin and a young economist in Denmark, has been appointed as the Group Economic Strategy Director of the world’s leading engineering and architecture company, Ramboll Group.
Tharuman is working as a consultant to the government of Denmark and several key economic institutions. He has Special Master’s in Economics and Political Science from the University of Copenhagen and Strategic Studies in Economics at the University of Insiat, France. He is the son of Tharuman Dharmakulasinghe, a Sri Lankan who came to Denmark in 1985 with his family, as a refugee.
Ramboll, an internationally recognized company in engineering and architecture, was established in Denmark in 1945 and now has expanded its services to 35 countries and is a leading global company that has been providing employment opportunities to millions of people.
With over 17,000 professionals working in its operations centre, the company provides solutions for buildings, transportation, environment and health, water, management consulting and architecture and landscape. It is also a company that promotes its services in cooperation with the Paris Agreement in the face of global climate goals.
Allan Tharuman is also engaged in various humanitarian projects in Sri Lanka. He lives in Copenhagen and is married to Julie Warberg, with whom he has two daughters.
