The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) recorded a statement from the Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage yesterday (28) in relation to the investigation into the attempted murder of the Magistrate by an unknown gunman.
The Criminal Investigation Department has initiated investigations related to the calls made by the individual who requested a firearm from the informant who sent a letter containing information about
the murder plot. Additionally, the department is investigating about a fake email address used under the guise of the Magistrate’s email to send messages to the CID.
This investigation was prompted by information suggesting that an unknown gunman had sought a firearm in an attempt to kill Magistrate Thilina Gamage.
Magistrate Thilina Gamage’s security has been strengthened following the incident.
