Central African Republic rout Bhutan 6-0 in FIFA opener

Central African Republic delivered a stunning performance in the FIFA Series opener, defeating Bhutan 6-0 at the Racecourse in Colombo. After leading 1-0 at halftime, they dominated the second half, adding five more goals to secure an impressive victory.

The match began with Bhutan showing resilience, but Central African Republic took control in the 18th minute with a goal from midfielder Tresor Toropite. Despite Bhutan’s efforts to react, they struggled to maintain momentum.

As the first half ended with Central African Republic leading 1-0, they intensified their attack in the second half. Karl Nagmanda scored in the 49th minute, followed by Venuste Baboala in the 51st minute, extending their lead to 3-0.

Central African Republic continued their relentless pursuit, with Mamadou Dangoba adding another goal in the 55th minute, and Karl Namnganda securing a double in the 65th minute.

Although Central African Republic received two yellow cards during the match, they maintained their dominance. Bhutan tried to capitalize on Central African Republic’s defensive lapses but failed to convert opportunities.

In the closing minutes, Tieri Godame missed a chance to score the sixth goal for Central African Republic. Despite Bhutan enjoying more possession towards the end, Central African Republic’s solid defense prevented any comeback.

As the match concluded, attention turned to other games in the FIFA Series, with Sri Lanka facing Papua New Guinea in the night match.
