A bail application filed by former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella who is currently in remand in connection with the alleged import of substandard immunoglobulin injections was yesterday fixed for March 25 by the Colombo High Court.
When the application was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Sujeewa Nissanka, Deputy Solicitor General Lakmini Girihagama appearing on behalf of the Attorney General informed Court that they have not received any other document related to the bail application yet.
She sought from the Court to order the relevant parties to submit the documents and annexes to them as they intend to produce objections over the bail application.
President’s Counsel Anuja Premarathne appearing for former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, informed court that they will make arrangement to submit all relevant documents and annexes to the Attorney General on Friday.
After considering the facts presented by all parties, the Colombo High Court Judge fixed the bail application to be taken up again on Monday (25).
Former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella had filed a bail application in the Colombo High Court through his lawyers seeking grant bail to him subject to any condition as the Maligakanda Magistrate has rejected his bail applications on several occasions.
