Sri Lanka, Australia and England Under -19 women’s cricketers  will play a tri-nation series involving both T-20 and 50-over games during the months of March and April.

The series will start from March 28 to April 9 while this is the first time Australia and England under 19 women’s National teams will tour Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka Cricket already made arrangements  for it.

The  T-20  matches will be played in Mahinda Rajapaksa International cricket Stadium Hambantota, and  ODI matches will be played at  Galle International cricket Stadium while each team will play four T-20 games and two 50-over games during the contest.

The winner of the contest will be decided based on the accumulated points based on match wins, while the focus of the series is to provide vital match exposure for Under 19 women cricketers.

“This tri-nation series involving both Australia and England is going to help our Under 19 women cricketers gain vital experience and exposure competing at the world stage, which will augur well for the women’s game in the country,” said Ashley De Silva CEO, Sri Lanka Cricket.

Sri Lanka under 19 women’s cricket team led by Manudi Nanayakkara   recently toured  Bangladesh for the Tri National T-20 tournament  with Pakistan and Bangladesh while  Sri Lanka successfully concluded the tournament with an emerging championship. Sri Lanka women’s team coached by Mahesh Weerasinghe  gave  superb performances and they have shown their fighting spirit  on the  Bangladesh tour.
