Sri Lanka Customs managed to secure the highest income in the history of Sri Lanka Customs by yesterday (21). Customs earned an income of Rs.942 Billion by yesterday (21) from January this year.
The Finance Ministry gave an income target of Rs.894 Billion for this year and Customs managed to surpass this target.
Customs exceeded the last highest income of Rs.924 Billion which was earned in 2018. Finance State Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said that these numbers could go over Rs.950 Billion in the next two weeks.
The Minister further expressed gratitude to the Customs staff including Director General Sarath Nonis for this achievement. He stated this while attending the Sri Lanka Customs Christmas party.
