Rohan Fernando the former Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel chairman tipped to be appointed new Chairman of the National Sports Council (NSC) attached to the Sports Ministry.
According to the Senior Sports Ministry official, former Sri Lanka cricket skipper Arjuna Ranatunga has resigned from the the NSC chairman post and due to vacate this post Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe has plan to appoint Rohan Fernando for this responsible post.
National Sports Council is closely work with the Sports Ministry to overlook players high performance activities as well as make infrastructure facilities. The 15-member NSC headed by its Chairman always responsible for these activities.
Rohan Fernando, an old boy of S.Thomas College Mt Lavinia is an experienced sports administrator as he was earlier Vice President of National Olympic Committee as well as former President of Sri Lanka Rowing Association.
