A Fiscal officer who had allegedly assisted the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court Registrar who is in remand for preparing a fake letter stating that the foreign travel ban imposed on a suspect had been lifted and faxed the letter to the Controller General of Immigration and Emigration was ordered to be remanded until today by the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court.
The suspect was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department and presented to Court and the Magistrate ordered that the suspect be sent for an identification parade.
The Criminal Investigation Department presented the suspect and said that the investigations revealed that the suspect had received Rs.12,000 to prepare the false document.
