Former Vice President of Sri Lanka Cricket and National Cricket selector and former President of BRC and State Services Cricket and former Senior DIG Jayantha Paranathala passed away last Tuesday and his funeral will be held on September 30 at Borella cemetery at 5 pm.

The former Isipathana College Cricket captain as well as Police SC and State Services team captain who was the best school all-round cricketer in 1970 later represented Sri Lanka Board XI Cricket team as the first Isipathana cricketer in 1977. He also did an excellent job as a BRC member. He also served at the Sri Lanka Cricket Board and Colombo District Cricket Association. He was the National cricket team Manager in 1990, 1995 and 2010. He represented College cricket, Rugby and Hockey before excelling at club and National level.
His remains will lie at the BRC on today (28) from 2 pm to 7 pm and the next two days 29 and 30 at Jayaratne VIP funeral parlor. (D.R)
