The Pelmadulla Police said that two people died in an accident between a lorry and a three-wheeler in Pelmadulla yesterday (3) afternoon. Police said that the three-wheeler, which was travelling from Ratnapura, overturned several times and collided with a parked cab. The driver of the three-wheeler who was seriously injured in the accident died while being taken to the Pelmadulla Hospital. The other injured person died after being admitted to the Ratnapura Hospital. This accident took place when three-wheeler was coming back to Pallebedda after attending a medical clinic at the Ratnapura General Hospital.
The driver of the lorry has been arrested in connection with the accident and the bodies of the two deceased persons have been placed in the Pelmadulla and Ratnapura Hospitals and the Pelmadulla Police said that further investigations are being conducted in connection with the incident.
