The Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Islamic Affairs, organized the inaugural Al Quran Memorization Competition in Sri Lanka through the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs.

Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Minister Vidura Wickramanayaka graced the event.
Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Khalid Hamud Al Qahtani, Special Representative of Saudi Arabia Badr Al Anasi, and Director of the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Z.A.M. Faizal were also present.
The students who won first, second, and third positions were awarded cash prizes.
Ambassador Khalid Hamud Al Qahtani presented mementos to Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, Minister Vidura Wickramanayake, and Director of the Department of Muslim Religion and Cultural Affairs Mr. ZAM Faizal, to express gratitude for their presence and support.
