Senior Citizens’ allowances to be paid today

Allowances granted to  senior citizens, disabled persons and those who are suffering from renal ailments will be paid to the beneficiaries by the respective Grama Niladharis today.

The Grama Niladharis will visit each house in their designated area to hand over the allowances, said Head of Media Coordination for the Special Presidential Task Force on Essential Supplies Prof Charitha Herath.

Senior citizens who are above 100 years will also receive their special allowance from the respective GN today.

Those who are entitled to the pension scheme for farmers and fishermen will receive their pension today and this program is coordinated by the Agrarian Services Department officials and Agriculture Development officials.

Pensioners who failed to obtain their pension on April 2 and 3 can also obtain their pension today. Postmasters will take steps to deliver the pensions to the houses of beneficiaries. Pharmacies will also be open today in all areas, including areas where the curfew will continue, for the benefit of pensioners and the public.
