Akkaraipattu Divisional Secretariat Football Team won the Ampara District Inter Divisional football championship for the third consecutive year beating Addalaichenai Divisional Secretariat football Team 2:1 in the final at the Addalaichenai Ashraff Memorial Public Play Grounds recently.
The football tournament was held as a part of Ampara District inter division sports meet -2024 in which altogether 13 registered football teams from Ampara DS divisions took part.
The Akkaraipattu FC and Addalaichenai FC teams qualified for the final.
The district champion team of this competition has qualified to contest at Eastern Provincial level competition which will be conducted by the Eastern Province Department of Sports. The football tournament will be played on June 1 at Batticaloa, Sports Officer M.P.Manel Wickramasinghe said.
