As law abiding people, we have a genuine fear that JVP will impart judicial powers to its activities at village level, SJB MP Harshana Rajakaruna emphasised in Parliament yesterday.
The MP said this while expressing his views in Parliament yesterday regarding a statement made by a former JVP MP K.D. Lalkantha. SJB MP Harshana Rajakaruna then played the audio tape of former MP Lal Kantha in Parliament.
“There is a very clear audio tape about his statement.We have a big fear in this regard. As people who respect the law, we are very afraid of his statement which clearly states imparting judicial power to the members of the JVP at the village level. Even though NPP MP Harini Amarasuriya said that former MP Lalkantha has not said that, it is on the audio tape. So this is a serious situation, Rajakaruna said.
