Departure baggage makeup facility to get Rs. 852 Mn upgrade

Airport & Aviation Services Sri Lanka Private Ltd announced that a project worth Rs. 852 million to upgrade the departure baggage makeup facility has been awarded to one of the leading professional and ISO-certified baggage service providers in Sri Lanka, MSN Engineering (Pvt) Limited.

The project is implemented in line with the company’s program to enhance the infrastructural facilities at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) continuously to facilitate the growing passenger volume at its main gateway.

This project will enhance the departure baggage handling capacity at BIA by around 45% and this project includes the construction of new buildings for capacity enhancement to departing passenger, check-in and satellite boarding gates, Package 2 – rearrangement, refurbishment, extension of departure baggage make-up carousel and associated civil works at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).
