The fifteenth ‘Battle of the Greens’ big match between Sir John Kotelawala M.V Kurunegala and Wayamba Royal College, Kurunegala will be played on April 26 and 27 at the Welegedara Stadium in Kurunegala commencing at 10 A.M on both days.
The 13 th One day encounter between the same two sides will be played on April 28 (Sunday) at the same venue commencing at 9.30 A.M. Sir John Kotelawala M.V will be led by all rounder Gimhan Alahakoon with Semina Yasas as his deputy. After performing well at the preliminary round matches, they entered for the pre-quarter final play offs of inter school under 19 division III Tier A tournament before losing to Royal College Polonnaruwa.
Wayamba Royal College will be led by right hand batsman and right arm off spinner Sithara Deshan with Pasindu Piushan as his vice captain. Playing in the under 19 division III Tier A tournament Wayamba Royal College fared well this season and entered the pre quarter final play offs before losing to Sri Palee M.V Horana. They also entered for the pre quarter finals of the Division III Tier A limited overs tournament which precedes the two day tournament.
