An army soldier was killed and 9 others were injured after a lorry collided with an army cab in Mankulam this morning (26).
Police said the lorry travelling from Mankulam to Kilinochchi, crashed onto the cab ahead of it near the Vasanthanagar junction
The injured soldiers were rushed to Kilinochchi Hospital.
One of the soldiers who was in critical condition succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to the Kilinochchi District General Hospital.
The deceased was identified as a 39-year-old from Galgamuwa, a sergeant attached to the Murukkandi army camp.
The driver of the lorry was arrested over the accident.
Further investigations are being conducted by the Mankulam Police
