School Colours, Sri Lanka Schools Colours and Black Belt Holder, International Representative, Gold Medalist in Kata and Kumite, Kulasiri Pathirathnage Janithmi Bodhima Wickramasinghe has brought honour and immense glory to her two schools Elaththara Maha Vidyalaya and Sangabodhi Vidyalaya and to her motherland with her deeds in the field of Karate.

Janithmi who hails from Elaththara Gampaha was born on 9th January 2008 and admitted initially to Elaththara Maha Vidyalaya and at this school she participated for team events at the School Inter House Sports Meets. In 2017 she was drafted to her present school. Same year her parents Newton Wickramasinghe and Vijayanthi Bogahawatte noticing that their daughter is following her elder sister Loshana Wickramasinghe’s foot steps they handed over Janithmi to school Karate coach Ranil Vithanage in 2018 and her first attempt was in 2019 at the All Island Meet held in Colombo and in the under 14 age group she won a Bronze Medal for Kumite. Same year at the District Meet she grabbed Golds for Kumite and Kata and at the Schools Federation Meet held in Colombo she won a Gold for Kumite and a Bronze for Kata and in the Provincial Meet she grabbed a Gold in Kumite and Silver for Kata.
Then in 2020 and 2021 there were no sports activities due to Corona Virus and in 2022 All Island under 16 meet she won a Silver for Kumite and with all these performances under her belt she was selected to participate for the 4th International Karate Championship in the under 16 category in Kerala India and she won a Silver Medal for Kata and in the Team Event they won a Gold Medal and finally at the 2023 All Island under 18 age group she came up to Best Eight in Kata and her trainer for Karate is Miss. Ashani.
