Sri Lanka’s Consul General (CG) in Mumbai, Dr. Valsan Vethody was the Chief Guest at the ‘FT Films Today’ Awards in Mumbai on April 19.
‘Films Today’ Magazine, a popular Bollywood Tabloid, is a collaboration between FT Films Today and the Enarr Group led by Dr. Shhyam R Singhania. The Singhania family, renowned in India, owns various businesses such as the Raymond Group and Enarr Capital.
Previously, the former Governor of Maharashtra was the Chief Guest at the Films Today Mumbai Ratna Awards, held at The Raj Bhavan in 2021.
During his address to a large audience of prominent figures from Bollywood, including producers, directors, and actors, the CG advocated Film Tourism, and spoke of Sri Lanka’s landscapes, facilities, and cultural richness. He presented videos promoting Film Tourism and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) in Sri Lanka.
Following the official function, guests engaged with the CG expressing their interest in filming in Sri Lanka, including the possibility of a serial based on the Ramayana.
