Chamil Kulawardena, a Senior Manager at Seylan Bank, was unanimously elected Secretary of the Richmond College Old Boys’ Association (OBA) at their 130th Annual General Meeting held at Richmond College C.W.W Kannangara Auditorium, recently.
Chamil is an active member of the Richmond College OBA, who has also held various positions earlier, this time took a big responsibility to be the Secretary. He was an active sportsman as a schoolboy, and has more than 20 years experience in the Banking sector.
Madeepa Nagahawatte, Assistant Vice President of Nations Trust Bank, was elected Treasurer, while Nilantha Halpandeniya, a senior Lawyer in Elpitiya, and Nisal Gunawardena were elected Assistant Secretaries.
Richmond College Principal P.S. Pushpakumara is the de facto President of the OBA.
The newly elected OBA officials are expected to ensure the development of the School’s Sports, while maintaining a high level of Academic excellence. They also intend to felicitate the present Richmond Cricket team which emerged Under 19 Inter School Division I, Tier ‘A’ Champions.
