A seven member committee led by a Major General has been appointed by the Sri Lanka Army to investigate the tragic accident that happened during the ‘Fox Hill Super Cross 2024’ racing event at Diyatalawa in which seven people were killed.
A statement issued by the Army headquarters said the committee will submit its findings to the Army Commander.
The committee has been tasked with determining the causes of the accident, identifying responsible parties, whether adequate safety measures had been taken for spectators, whether the responsible parties had taken adequate measures to ensure the racing track’s quality and recommendations to prevent such accidents in the future.
