Mohamed Thaburani and H.A.A.R Stanley obtained highest points 90 each at the recently concluded Sri Lanka Athletics( SLA) Technical Officials Examination )Grade 11) conducted by SLA successfully.
Chairman of the Technical officials Committee of SLA G.L.S Perera said over 23 officials really performed well at this exam having more than 75 marks and it’s a good move for the Technical officials who is going to give their service for the Athletics meets both home and away .
G.L.S Perera who also the senior Vice President of SLA said the area of Technical officials is very vital to develop the sport and we are having Technical exams Grade 1,2,3 every year to gain more knowledge to the technical officials. In fact athletes are the most important but we can’t
forget the area of Technical officials who are the people handling all technical part of the sport .
Officials from all over the country took part in this exam while Abul Hasan Mohamed Thaburani from Palamunai who is a Physical Education teacher at Ak/ AL Hikma Vidyalaya Palamunai and Rt Warrant officer of Sri Lanka Army H.A.A.R Stanley became the best of this exam having 90 marks each .In addition 13 Officials got over 80 marks while 8 officers got over 75 mark
and these 23 officials are the best of the Technical officials Grade 11 exam added G.L.S Perera .
G.L.S Perera further added competitions is the life blood of Athletics while Technical officials are essential for the conduct of competitions and to ensure that athletes have every chance of achieving their best performance in the events .Sri Lanka Athletics Technical Officials Association is responsible for this concluded Vice President G.L.S Perera .
