Another complaint has been received against the actress Damitha Abeyratne and her husband for defrauding a person of Rs. 3.4 mn to send for a job in Korea.
The Peliyagoda Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau has received this complaint lodged by a resident of Wattala and Rs.400,000 out of the Rs. 3.4 mn taken claiming to send him to Korea has been returned to the complainant and the balance of Rs. 3 mn has not been refunded, a senior Police officer said.
Actress Damitha Abeyratne and her husband are presently in remand prison with a travel ban imposed, over defrauding money amounting to nearly Rs.3 million by claiming to provide foreign jobs to people. According to police the incident will be reported to the Court in the near future in order to take legal action against Damitha and her husband.
