Two elderly women have been found dead inside a house in a suspicious manner in the Kalutara South Police division on Wednesday (17).
Some neighbours living in the vicinity of the house where the two elderly women were staying had informed the Kalutara South Police station through the Police emergency hotline that they have not seen the two women for a few days and that a foul odour is emanating from their house, Police Media Division said.
The Kalutara South Police had visited the location and inspected the house where they found the house locked and they had checked inside through a window where the two women were found fallen on the floor of their bedroom and deceased.
The two deceased women aged 65 and 79 have been residents at 1st lane, Isuru Uyana in the Kalutara South area as confirmed by the Grama Sevaka.
The Magisterial Inquest was held yesterday (18).The Kalutara Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
