French Ambassador visits HIP

The Ambassador for France in Sri Lanka, Jean-Francois Pactet visited theHambantota International Port (HIP) recently, for a tour of the port and to explore possible business opportunities for French companies.

Tissa Wickremasinghe, COO of HIPG met with the embassy delegates, and at a discussion with the Ambassador, outlined the port’s 5 core areas of business.

He described the current growth experienced by HIP especially in the RORO/LPG and oil and Gas sectors and the latest introduction of container operations. The COO said the port was expected to increase bulk cargo volumes by the end of the year.

HIPG’s CSR and ESG contributions and future plans were also part of the discussion.

The ambassador was accompanied byHema Ramachandran, Deputy Economic Counsellor andDinusha Ileperuma, Press Attaché.The COO of HIP presented the ambassador with a token to mark the visit.
